Indigenous Mexican American baritone Ethan Vincent opens the 2025-26 season by returning to The Metropolitan Opera to cover the roles of Salvador Dalí in Mason Bates’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay under the baton of Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin and stage direction by Bartlett Sher as well as Schaunard in La bohème with Keri-Lynn Wilson on the podium. He will make his Opéra de Montréal debut singing the role of Escamillo in Carmen as Jean-Marie Zeitouni leads the Orchestre Métropolitain with stage director Anna Theodosakis. Last season, he sang the title role in Don Giovanni for Virginia Opera conducted by Adam Turner and directed by Kyle Lang before returning to the company to take on Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with Maestro Turner at the helm. Mr. Vincent returned to the rosters of the Lyric Opera of Chicago to cover the role of Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro under the baton of Erina Yashima.
